No one can stop you from being the Church.
Your church is closing or it is definitely looking at the possibility. Most congregations would disperse, its members scattering to join another church (which is a terrific idea, don't get me wrong) or amalgamating altogether as a new church (also a perfectly fine idea). Most congregations accept their denomination's decision as if they can't change anything.
